High-Protein Chocolate Crackles

A healthier take on a classic Australian party treat: soy crisps add the protein, and maple syrup and cacao replace the sugar and copha.

Ingredients

  • puffed rice — 1 cup20 g
  • soy crisps — 1 cup30 g
  • coconut oil — 4 tbsp80 ml
  • maple syrup — 7 tbsp; to taste140 ml
  • cacao powder — 4 tbsp32 g

Method

  1. Add the puffed rice and soy crisps to a bowl.
  2. Melt the coconut oil with the maple syrup, then stir in the cacao.
  3. Pour over the puffed rice and soy crisps and mix everything together.
  4. Spoon into moulds or patty cases and freeze for 45 minutes to set.
